The Gradall D172 is a highway-speed wheeled excavator from the Discovery Series, built to travel at up to 60 mph between jobsites using its single Cummins ISB 6.7 engine to power both the carrier and upper structure. Its signature full-tilting, telescoping boom reaches a maximum digging depth of 13 feet 6 inches and a ground-level radius of nearly 25 feet, with a 220-degree tilt range that enables finish grading, ditch cleaning, and pavement removal without repositioning the machine. The 4x2 carrier with Allison 6-speed automatic transmission and 8-foot 6-inch transport width suits highway maintenance, utility work, and municipal operations.
