The Midland SPD-6 is a double-sided self-propelled road widener that handles shoulder spreading on both the right and left sides of a roadway, making it exceptionally versatile for highway rehabilitation and widening projects. A 62-horsepower diesel engine powers front-wheel drive and steering, and a bidirectional 18-inch chain drive conveyor feeds material to STOW and GO strike-off blades that adjust for right or left spread. The machine fits within legal transport width, requiring no permits for road travel, and delivers up to 300 tons per hour. Its 2.75-cubic-yard hopper accommodates standard haul trucks efficiently.
